Reprisals are forbidden
Employers are restricted from penalizing staff members in any way because the staff member worked out ESA rights.

Who is not covered by the ESA?

– inmates taking part in work or rehab programs, or individuals who work as part of a sentence or order of a court.
– people who hold political, judicial, religious or chosen trade union offices.
– significant junior ice hockey gamers who satisfy certain conditions related to scholarships.

Employee misclassification
